As the day approaches, the city of Salzburg is awakening to another day of tourism. I can hear the sound of music now!

St. Peter's cemetery is a collection of lovely mini gardens that are tended to by the deceased's relatives. This cemetery was the inspiration of the "Sound of Music" cemetry scene where the Von Trapp family hide from the Natizs

This chuch is called "Votiv Kirche" and was built in 1856 to 1879 in remembrance of Emperor Franz Josef.

Here you see Town Hall being used for ice skating during the winter season. This is a chance for the Viennese to enjoy their beautiful city.

The House of Parliment is designed in the Greek style in 1874 and is embellished with the goddess of victory Athena.

The State Opera House was built in 1861 and has nightly performances of top international artists.

The Sacher hotel which faces the rear of the Opera is known world wide for their famous torte and coffee.

There are two buildings making up this museum. Here you see the Kunst-Historisches Museum side and behind is the Natur-Historisches Museum in the same courtyard.

This is a typical Thursday afternoon in Vienna in the pedestrian zone going towards St. Stephans Church.

Here is St. Stephans Church which was built in 1137 in the Romanesque Style. The church was rebuilt after a fire in 1360 and 1945 and is covered with 250,000 glazed roof tiles.
